Aly Hazzaa is a documentary photographer whose work has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Globe and Mail. His photographs have been exhibited internationally, including in People Are the Red Line, Cairo: New Testimonies of an Ongoing Revolution (Germany, 2012–2013), Shoof (2014), and at Somerset House, London (2024). He has also served as a jury member for photography competitions on both local and international levels. Hazzaa’s practice explores the dynamic tension between beauty and harsh reality, using this contrast to build layered visual narratives. His work highlights moments of humanity, emotion, and resilience within everyday life. In 2011, during the Egyptian revolution, his commitment to documenting truth and social change became a defining moment in his career. This experience led him to shift from mechanical engineering to pursuing photography full-time.
