Aly Hazzaa is a documentary and street photographer based in Cairo, Egypt. His work has been featured in major international publications, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Globe and Mail. Hazzaa’s photographs have been exhibited at Somerset House in London (2024), as well as in Germany for People Are the Red Line: Cairo (2012–2013) and Shoof (2014). He actively contributes to the photography community by giving workshops and talks, and serving as a jury member for local and international competitions. His professional career began during the 2011 Egyptian Revolution, when he transitioned from mechanical engineering to full-time photography to document historic social change. Hazzaa's practice explores the dynamic tension between beauty and harsh reality, building layered visual narratives that highlight humanity and resilience.
